    One of the best treks on Earth, with one of the oldest and strangest landscapes featuring black rock towers, quartz crystal fields, carnivorous plants, and a unique bouncing toad. Much of its wildlife is endemic, inspiring 'The Lost World' and Pixar's 'Up'. The standard route is a 6-day guided trek from Paraitepui village, with the summit reachable via a natural rock ramp. Pack for wet and cold conditions, as it rains most of the year and the top is often in cloud. The driest months (Dec-Apr) offer the best chance for clear summit views. This is a remote, logistically serious trip requiring an established operator and current travel advice.
