In some area of the McKenzie River and in particular at the Blue Pool, you will be able to admire some of the most clear and blue waters you will ever seen. The reason is the frigid temperature (37F or ~3C) that kills every microorganism in the water and the porous lava rock that act as a filter as the river flows through it.
