About
A sacred site of dragon worship, where prayers have continued since ancient times. Believed to predate Murou-ji Temple, this place has long enshrined the deity that governs water. The current main sanctuary was relocated here in 1671 from the former Wakamiya sanctuary of Kasuga Taisha. Deep in the mountains, the spiritual landscape of Nara still lives on.
