About
Final resting place of the 47 ronin, masterless samurai who avenged their lord in 1702 and became legends of loyalty and honor. Visitors come here year-round to pay respect at their graves, often leaving incense. Every year on December 14, Sengakuji hosts a festival to remember the ronin’s revenge, drawing huge crowds and food stalls around the temple. There’s also a small museum displaying artifacts, letters, and armor from the samurai. Open 7am - 4pm.
