Number six is a hamburger, not even a cheeseburger. It's in Kyoto at a spot called Hiki Miki to come. They only do one thing, burgers with rice. Their burgers are first grilled then open roasted and you eat them with rice. No buns here. The amount of flavor and moisture in these burgers is unlike anything I've ever had. One of my favorite dinners on the trip.

Number nine might have the longest line out of any spot on the list. It's all for these little crispy cream puff donuts. This spot is called Mooken in Osaka. These aren't your average cream puffs. They're delightfully light, crispy, almost caramelly. One bite in and I know exactly why they're so famous among Osaka locals and why they sell it every day.

I've never had any texture like them. They also come with some delightful tempura as well. And pro tip, the line gets crazy here so get there early. And second pro tip, they actually sell the udon right in their store so stock up after you eat inside.
