Also known as San Jiaolun Mountain, one of the five major peaks of the Lanyang area. The trail, called the Sacred Mother Trail, is one of the pilgrimage roads for Catholics that starts at the Wufengqi Waterfall Scenic Area and ends at the Sacred Mother Hut. To reach the hut, hikers first walk along a 3.7 km country road, followed by a steep 1.6 km ascent climbing 500 meters in elevation. The round trip takes roughly six hours to complete. From the viewing platform, hikers can enjoy breathtaking scenery surrounded by lush mountains on one side, and sweeping views of the Lanyang Plain and Guishan Island on the other. Since the mountain faces the sea and is often shrouded in mist, it’s best to reach the summit before noon to enjoy the scenery.
